#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), promotes the development of national technology in space telecommunications with state-of-the-art infrastructure at the Regional Center for Space Development (CREDES), located in Quantum Ciudad del Conocimiento, in Zacatecas, Zacatecas.

CREDES Zacatecas, made possible thanks to the invaluable support of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), emerged as a joint project between the AEM, the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) and the Zacatecas Council of Science, Technology, and Innovation (COZCYT).

Since its launch in 2021, its mission has been to develop national capabilities by promoting applied research and training of highly specialized human capital to enhance our telecommunications with space technology, since in this digital and Internet era, space infrastructure is strategic for Mexico.

As of today, and moving towards a sovereignty of our country in this area, the AEM has generated multiple agreements and projects to train the talent of our youth in these technologies, in order to apply them to priority social tasks in strategic lines of research, in the seven laboratories that CREDES Zacatecas has.
